Proflight Zambia Opens New Route to Windhoek

Proflight Zambia will launch new regional flights connecting Zambia and Namibia, with direct service between Livingstone and Windhoek starting March 3, 2026. Operating three times a week, the route boosts regional tourism and trade. Africa’s Eden welcomes this development as a major step in strengthening Southern African air access and unlocking more seamless travel opportunities.

18 August 2025 – Lusaka, Zambia

Proflight Zambia has announced a new milestone in its regional expansion with the upcoming launch of direct flights to Windhoek, Namibia, beginning March 3, 2026. The service will operate three times weekly, offering travellers more flexibility and deeper connections between two of Southern Africa’s most iconic destinations – Zambia and Namibia.

The new route will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays with two options:

Lusaka – Windhoek: via a brief stop in Livingstone (passengers remain on board)

Livingstone – Windhoek: a direct flight

Return flights from Windhoek will connect passengers onward to Ndola, Solwezi, and Mfuwe, offering even greater accessibility across Zambia. With morning and evening connections in place, this schedule is designed for both business and leisure travellers looking for seamless travel within the region.

This new development positions Proflight Zambia as the only airline currently offering direct service on this route — a significant step forward for regional connectivity and intra-Africa tourism.

“At Africa’s Eden, we celebrate every new flight that connects our region more efficiently,” said Jillian Blackbeard, CEO of Africa’s Eden. “This new route by Proflight Zambia is a practical win for air access and it’s a symbolic one too. It brings together the Namib Desert and the mighty Zambezi, opening new multi-country itineraries that benefit both our members and the wider tourism community.”

Proflight Zambia Director of Flight Operations, Captain Josias Walubita, also noted that the airline is responding to growing demand: “This route supports our vision to provide reliable, comfortable, and efficient travel within the Southern African region. Namibia is a vital trade and tourism partner, and we are proud to serve this connection.”

With increased ease of travel between Windhoek and Livingstone – home of Victoria Falls – and Lusaka as a key hub, this development marks a boost for both tourism circuits and regional business travel.
