Proflight Zambia has reached a significant aviation milestone after successfully completing the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), becoming Zambia’s only IOSA-registered airline. The achievement places the airline on the official IOSA Registry, a globally recognised benchmark for airline operational safety.
The audit, conducted every two years, is one of the most rigorous safety assessments in commercial aviation and evaluates an airline’s operational management and control systems across multiple disciplines. Proflight Zambia’s inclusion on the registry reflects years of sustained investment in staff training, systems, and compliance with international standards.
“Safety is, and will always remain, our top priority,” said Kenneth Sunga Silavwe, Director – Safety, Quality, Security and IT at Proflight Zambia. “Successful completion of the IOSA audit reflects the discipline, professionalism and dedication of our teams, and reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement.”
IOSA registration confirms that Proflight Zambia meets the IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARPs) set by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Airlines listed on the IOSA Registry consistently record lower accident rates than non-IOSA operators, underlining the framework’s effectiveness in improving operational safety.
Beyond safety performance, IOSA registration enhances an airline’s market credibility, strengthens passenger confidence, and opens doors to expanded interline and codeshare partnerships with global carriers, improving connectivity to, from and within Zambia.
For the travel trade, IOSA registration provides reassurance that Proflight Zambia operates in line with internationally accepted safety and regulatory frameworks. This is particularly relevant as Zambia continues to strengthen its position as a regional gateway for leisure, business and MICE travel across Southern Africa.

Proflight Zambia’s IOSA achievement comes at a time when direct engagement between airlines and the travel trade is more important than ever. Africa-based travel buyers will have the opportunity to schedule meetings with Proflight Zambia during the Africa’s Eden Travel Show – Africa Edition in March 2026, while global travel buyers can connect with the airline during the Africa’s Eden Travel Show – Global Edition in November of this year in Kasane.
Proflight Zambia is also integrated into several Zambia-based familiarisation tours, allowing buyers to experience first-hand how regional air connectivity supports seamless, multi-destination itineraries across the Africa’s Eden region.
