A new era in conservation tourism is taking shape in northwestern Zambia with the launch of Lolelunga Private Reserve, a remarkable 30,000-hectare sanctuary north of Kafue National Park. Opening to guests in August 2025, this privately owned reserve is Zambia’s first fully fenced Big Five photographic safari destination – offering lion, cheetah, buffalo, elephant, and soon, black rhino
Lolelunga’s commitment to conservation is matched by its focus on community. With the support of Zambian ownership, the reserve has already reintroduced five cheetahs and is preparing for the arrival of black rhino. Beyond wildlife, Lolelunga has drilled over 50 boreholes, built two secondary schools, supported 500 local farmers, and ensured medical access to six clinics through its private airstrip.
Hosting only 14 guests, Lolelunga offers secluded suites designed by FYGG Studios, blending natural materials with contemporary African style. Guests can unwind in one of three standard king rooms, two junior suites, or a family suite, all offering sweeping views of the Lunga River. Onsite amenities include a gym, pool, spa, and the romantic Ngoma Deck, available for private dining or starlit sleepouts.
