Mwamba Bush Camp

For passionate nature lovers looking for a tailored, authentic safari, Shenton Safaris delivers guests the opportunity to experience incredible wildlife and photographic moments in Zambia’s iconic South Luangwa National Park. For more than three decades, the Shenton’s, and their extended family of extraordinary guides and camp staff, have been sharing the magic of the Luangwa with guests from all over the world. Regarded as one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries, the concentration of game around the Luangwa River and its many oxbow lagoons is among the most intense in Africa.

Mwamba Bush Camp is located deep within the remote North of the park in an area renowned for its varied, beautiful landscapes and exceptional game viewing. Home to several lion prides and no less than 10 resident leopards, this is truly one of the best places in Africa to see these animals in a completely natural environment. The light footprint from the human species, really sets this area aside from others. With only two other camps in the wider vicinity and a short, 6-month season, the area remains a pristine and genuine wilderness, benefiting both the wildlife and visitors.

One of the biggest drawcards Shenton Safaris boasts, is their exclusive network of wildlife hides. Each location has been carefully chosen after years of observation, with six hides offering phenomenal game viewing, photographic opportunities and the chance to simply just sit comfortably and quietly enjoy the moment.

To complement your stay at Mwamba Bush Camp, a night in the Numbu Star Bed offers you the ultimate wilderness experience. Complete with a full-size bed, mosquito net and all the amenities needed for an evening under the stars, this is a fabulous experience to cherish forever.
