MmaTsebe Tented Camp is a peaceful safari retreat set along the evergreen banks of the Mbudi River. With nine en-suite tented rooms, the camp offers privacy, comfort, and direct access to some of Botswana’s most iconic wilderness. Each tent is positioned for seclusion and river views, allowing guests to fully unwind in nature.
Tents can be arranged with either double or twin beds, and a mobile bed is available for children sharing with a parent or guardian. Beds are plush and draped with elegant canopy mosquito nets. Each tent includes a private flush loo, a hot-water shower, shelving, luggage rack, desk and chair, fan, plug points with USB ports, and a shaded verandah with a coffee table and chairs. The camp is fully solar powered, offering sustainable comfort in a remote setting.
MmaTsebe’s location is ideal for exploring both the Khwai region and the Moremi Game Reserve, two of Botswana’s most celebrated wildlife areas. Game drives venture into both, with expert guides at the helm. Highly trained and employed at the top of their field, our guiding team brings deep knowledge, intuition, and passion to every drive.
A highlight of any stay is the full-day “Sitatunga’s Edge” excursion. Guests begin with a game drive into Moremi, then board a double-decker pontoon boat from Xakanaxa for an afternoon cruising the channels of the Okavango Delta. The experience offers a chance to spot the elusive sitatunga antelope and is a dream for birders and photographers alike. The upper deck provides sweeping views, while the lower level immerses guests in the quiet, intricate beauty of the delta’s waterways.
The main area of camp includes an open-plan lounge and dining space for up to 18 guests. Meals can be enjoyed privately or shared at a communal table, with the option for quiet dining or lively conversation. A boma hosts morning and evening fires, and a dedicated Wi-Fi loung, separate to the main area, allows for discreet connection to the outside world.
MmaTsebe’s menu celebrates traditional Botswana flavours, crafted with fresh ingredients and shaped under the training of renowned Motswana chef Ednah Rosen. Trained by Rosen and drawing from her cookbook, Taste of Botswana, the kitchen delivers a thoughtful culinary journey each day. Guests enjoy breakfast with both continental and hot plated options, a vibrant, seasonal lunch spread, indulgent high tea with homemade pastries, and a beautifully prepared three-course dinner each evening.
There is a unique warmth to MmaTsebe that only comes from an owner-run camp. Its independent spirit is woven into every detail, from personalised hosting to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes every guest feel at home.
