At Kafunta each of the stylish safari chalets and the main lounge / dining area overlook the game rich flood plain. Beyond the plain is the Luangwa River and one of the best game viewing areas South Luangwa.
Activities include game drives, walks and visits to Mfuwe for a cultural and artistic experience.
The lodge features eight standard chalets, two luxury suites, and a separate private house called The Sunset House. The main lodge features an infinity pool, a natural jacuzzi fed by a hot spring, a small spa and a photographic hide. Opened late 2023, the Sunset House is a composed of 3 en-suite bedrooms, an indoor lounge and outdoor dining area, as well as a private pool and large decks and a fireplace. It comes with its own chef and safari guide.
Kafunta River Lodge is one of Kafunta Safaris’ three properties and benefits from the same standards and attention to details. It can ideally be combined with a stay at one of our more remote bush camps: Three Rivers Camp or Island Bush Camp.
