Gwabi offers accommodation in all price ranges as well as activities such as fishing, birding, game viewing by boat, canoeing, village visits, game drives in the Lower Zambezi National Park and more. Gwabi has FTT accreditation and keeps working hard at making improvements wherever possible
Gwabi is very flexible in the activities that can be booked. They should be booked in advance though. The canoeing trips are available as one or multiple day trips. Overnight is in tents on a sandbank or island, relaxing around a campfire with the sound of animals all around.
Village visits are done on foot to a nearby village (not a cultural village). Most of Gwabi’s staff comes from this village and clients can experience how a normal rural village in Zambia operates. Gwabi also contributes to the development of this village.
The visit to the Lower Zambezi National Park is a full day trip. It starts early morning with a boat trip to the park, then a transfer to the game drive vehicle, lunch in the park and a boat ride back. Game viewing can also take place by boat in the GMA (game management area) The baobab forest and bat cave tour is a half day activity and involves a drive to the baobab forest, followed by a hike to the bat cave.
Fishing trips take half a day or full day and most people enjoy targeting Tiger fish, but there are plenty of other fish species. Gwabi practises catch and release on most species. Gwabi has an a la carte restaurant on site, a well stocked bar and a swimming pool. Internet is available for free (normal usage) in the lodge area
