Changa Safari Camp

Changa Safari Camp in Matusadona National Park boasts eight luxury tents set under sprawling Mopane woodland along Kariba’s shoreline and around a central infinity pool, private beach and bar/dining area, Changa Safari Camp offers endless views across the lake. Perfect for single travellers, honeymooners and couples, or small groups of friends and family, Changa offers exceptional value for money in terms of classic luxury tented safari.

Changa Safari Camp

Intriguing walkways from the main area through the natural woodland lead to Changa Safari Camp’s well-spaced tented accommodations. In colours and textures that allude to its raw African surrounds, your home at Changa is light, organic, comfortable, and spacious. A private veranda and outdoor bath and shower complete the perfect picture.

– 6 x 1 bedroom luxury tented rooms, with en suite inside and outside bathrooms (2 pax)
– 2 x 2 bedroom luxury tented rooms with en suite bathrooms, one indoor and one with both indoor shower and outside bath and shower.

For all its spectacular setting, Changa Safari Camp is a relaxed and openhearted camp, the ideal base from which to unwind by the pool, sip on a cocktail or kick back in the open air lounge and catch up with fellow travellers.

Located where it is, the Changa safari experience offers the perfect balance of land and water based safari experiences. The diverse array of activities on offer are open vehicle game drives, guided bush walks, boat cruises on the lake or into the Sanyati Gorge, and fishing. The bush spa has re-opened and available for guests on selected dates.

Changa is easily accessible by air from Victoria Falls, Hwange, Harare, Mana Pools and neighbouring Livingstone in Zambia. Guests arrive either at Kariba Airport (and then a boat transfer across the lake) or at the nearby Kanjedza Airstrip, a short game drive away into camp.

Matusadona National Park, with its vast shoreline, provides good game viewing opportunities for lion, elephant, buffalo, hyena, hippo, crocodile, and an array of plains game such as waterbuck, impala, kudu and zebra. Leopards are sometimes seen but tend to be a little more elusive and shy. Now under the management of African Parks, Matusadona is well on its way to once again becoming a thriving wildlife destination in Zimbabwe.
