Located in Masvingo, home to the historic Great Zimbabwe Monuments, the African Youth in Tourism and Hospitality Association (AYTHA) is at the forefront of youth empowerment in the region. AYTHA’s mission is to transform tourism and hospitality through the development of skilled, knowledgeable, and visionary young leaders.
The association offers a dynamic platform for young people to gain practical experience in tourism management, hospitality services, event coordination, and community-based tourism initiatives. Through structured training programs, mentorship, and collaboration with local and international stakeholders, AYTHA cultivates a generation of professionals who are not only work-ready but also passionate about Africa’s cultural and natural heritage.
One of the association’s key strengths lies in project management. AYTHA equips youth with the tools to design, implement, and evaluate impactful tourism initiatives that benefit both communities and the environment. These projects range from heritage conservation campaigns to digital tourism marketing and sustainable travel solutions.
In addition to technical skills, AYTHA champions youth participation in tourism policy development. By facilitating dialogue between youth and policymakers, the association ensures that young voices contribute to shaping inclusive and forward-thinking tourism policies. This approach not only strengthens the sector but also enhances youth leadership and civic engagement.
AYTHA invites tourism and hospitality leaders, investors, and partners to collaborate in building a resilient, youth-driven tourism sector. Whether through internships, consultancy, training, or joint ventures, the association offers a skilled and motivated talent pool ready to elevate the tourism experience in Zimbabwe and beyond.
