Pangolin Photo Safaris

Pangolin Photo Safaris is Africa’s premier photo safari operator and lodge owner, dedicated to delivering exceptional wildlife photography experiences in iconic African wilderness destinations. Founded with a mission to make wildlife photography accessible to everyone from total beginners to seasoned professionals, Pangolin operates under a specialized, purpose-driven model that integrates high-end safari hospitality with expert instruction.

The company owns and operates two flagship properties along the wildlife-rich Chobe River: The Pangolin Chobe Hotel—an intimate 14-room hotel perched on a plateau in Kasane featuring an editing suite and underground photo hide—and The Pangolin Voyager, a state-of-the-art, solar-powered luxury houseboat moored on the Namibian side of the rive. Beyond Chobe, Pangolin designs and leads multi-destination safaris connecting guests to the Okavango Delta, Central Kalahari, Victoria Falls, Sabi Sands, Kenya, and beyond.

What sets Pangolin Photo Safaris apart is its commitment to lowering the barriers to wildlife photography. Guests are provided with complimentary usage of high-end camera bodies and telephoto lenses (e.g., Canon R6 Mark II with RF 100-500mm lenses), complete with hands-on coaching from resident photo hosts throughout game drives and dedicated Lightroom editing workshops. Safari activities are conducted aboard custom-engineered watercraft featuring 360-degree rotating seats with camera gimbal mounts, as well as land vehicles capped at a maximum of four photographers per drive to ensure optimal angles and positioning for every guest.

In addition to catering to individual travellers, photographic clubs, and small group charters, Pangolin operates with a strong conservation focus. It is the proud founding partner of Pangolin.Africa, a registered non-profit organization dedicated to the research, protection, and rehabilitation of the vulnerable African pangolin through publicity, participation, and protection initiatives.
