Pangolin.Africa is a registered non-profit organisation dedicated to the survival of the most highly trafficked wildlife species on earth – the African pangolin.
Through its three-pronged approach of publicity, participation, and protection, Pangolin.Africa works with global partners in tourism, conservation, and business to contribute to research, protection, and rehabilitation of this vulnerable species.
Since its founding in 2018, Pangolin.Africa has spearheaded pilot research into pangolin-friendly electric fences, supported the safe release of pangolins throughout Africa, and grown an army of dedicated Pangolin Guardians across the globe.
One pangolin is poached from the wild every five minutes. The situation facing the African pangolin has reached a tipping point. If action isn’t taken now, this animal could disappear in our lifetime.

“Pangolins are an integral part of Africa’s rich natural heritage. Pangolin.Africa works to support awareness and conservation efforts that protect their important contribution to the continent’s biodiversity, but also safeguards their future for this generation and those to come,” says Pangolin.Africa Founder Toby Jermyn.

Pangolin.Africa’s flagship Pangolin Guardians programme is a free, online course that improves education and awareness around the African pangolin. The programme empowers those living and working in regions where the pangolin naturally occurs with knowledge on how to treat, track, and take care of the animal.
The programme is also a powerful tool for citizens living anywhere who are passionate about protecting pangolins and safeguarding the future of Africa’s vulnerable wildlife.
Pangolin.Africa’s Pangolert service is the first and only tool to record pangolin sightings using WhatsApp, the most popular messaging service in Africa. The data is accessed by organisations carefully vetted by Pangolin.Africa’s team, and is used to improve data pangolin population numbers, distribution, and mortalities.
Pangolin enables those living, working and visiting Africa to strengthen conservation efforts by improving data available on pangolin population numbers and distribution.
