Are you searching for a luxurious experience in Zambia that is within reach of Victoria Falls? If so, then The River Club (TRC) needs to be at the top of your travel wish list. Check out why we think you should consider staying at TRC while travelling in Africa’s Eden:
The River Club is located 18km upstream from Victoria Falls. VicFalls is within 30 minutes’ drive, but you won’t have any noise pollution from helicopters and microlights. Rather, you will find a tranquil oasis where chirping birds and hippos honking in the Zambezi River below being the only disturbance to the serenity.
With an elevated position along the Zambezi River, with all 11 luxurious, open-plan suites located along the river banks. Every suite faces the Zambezi River with uninterrupted views of the gorgeous African sunset. In addition, each suite is nestled in and amongst the trees, giving ultimate privacy and relaxation.
The River Club is Owner-Run
The River Club is privately owned and owner-managed, making it arguably one of the only boutique lodges along the Zambezi River. As a result, the premises is soaked in ambience. The restored 1940s homestead boasts a plush lounge, dining room and library with artefacts and memorabilia teeming with Zambia’s fascinating history.
If you are looking for an idyllic African location for an intimate wedding ceremony and reception, then look no further. With the assistance of a premier wedding planning team, the knowledgeable staff can make your dream wedding in the African bush a reality. Alternatively, if you are scouring for the perfect spot to propose or spend your first few days of wedded bliss, then ask TRC team for inspiration and ideas.
Giraffes live at The River Club
In late 2021, TRC welcomed giraffes Geraldine, Juju (short for Justyne) and Joshua. These two females and one male giraffe originally came from a game farm in Choma, southern Zambia. The young giraffes and bushbuck, and impala have the freedom to roam the extent of the 65-area property to the delight of residents.
The River Club is passionate about history, particularly the history of Jewish people in Livingstone. Because of this, The River Club has set up two kosher kitchens, both set up to follow the laws of Kashrut. Our staff members use the first kitchen, who are all fully trained in preparing, cooking, and serving kosher meals. A Mashgiach can only unseal the second kitchen.
River Club guests have access to a tennis court, snooker table, nature trails, swimming pool overlooking the Zambezi River, croquet, and boules on the lawn. There is a small gym to get your heart pumping and a spa treatment room for the ultimate in relaxation and pampering.
A wide variety of activities await young and old while staying at The River Club. Guests are offered the perfect mix of idyllic relaxation and adventure. In addition to the lodge activities, Livingstone is a well-known destination for thrill-seekers and safari enthusiasts. The staff can assist with reservations for:
- Livingstone Island and Devil’s Pool
