Criteria:

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred but not essential)
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of experience in lodge or hotel management
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

Competency:

  • Knowledge of hospitality operations, including front-of-house and housekeeping
  • Strong financial and budget management skills
  • Proficiency in reservation systems and guest management software
  • Excellent communication and guest relations skills
  • Ability to lead and train a diverse team

Responsibilities:

Operations & Guest Experience
  • Oversee daily lodge operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences
  • Manage guest check-ins, check-outs, and special requests efficiently
  • Ensure all lodge facilities are well-maintained and meet quality standards
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve any complaints professionally
  • Organize activities and excursions to enhance guest stays
Team Leadership & Staff Development
  • Recruit, train, and supervise lodge staff
  • Motivate and support team members to maintain high service standards
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and training sessions
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment
Financial Management & Reporting
  • Develop and monitor budgets, ensuring financial targets are met
  • Control operational costs while maintaining quality service
  • Handle payroll, staff incentives, and financial documentation
  • Monitor stock levels and supplier relationships for efficient lodge operations
Marketing & Client Relations
  • Work with travel agents, tour operators, and online platforms to promote the lodge
  • Maintain strong relationships with returning guests and potential clients
  • Assist in developing promotional packages and special offers
  • Monitor online reviews and maintain the lodge’s reputation
Administration & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Maintain proper documentation for licenses, permits, and certifications
  • Implement policies and procedures for smooth lodge operations
  • Oversee inventory management and supplier contracts
Sustainability & Conservation Efforts
  • Support eco-friendly initiatives and conservation programs
  • Educate staff and guests on sustainable tourism practices
  • Engage with local communities for responsible tourism efforts
